This comic was a nightmare, and slated to be posted after “88mph=time travel.” It still works in it’s current line up timing-wise… but it was one of those ideas my pencil just didn’t want to draw right.

Reworked too damn many times, but here it is. Next one is on track for next week. Probably Saturday since… this is Saturday. =)

I personally HAVE been called back the same day as applying, and hired.

Not hard to tell what types of jobs these were. =P

You go in thinking it’s only a quick few minutes to get this done, then you can move on to another opportunity. Swing in next door to Bed Bath & Beyond after this to get another prospect in the pipeline, then down the street to a few more. Gotta have them fighting over you, right? Have your pick of the litter. This will only take a few hours for a full day of applying (can’t get TOO MANY recruiters on the hook mind you, that would be silly,) then it’s back home to grab some lunch and loaf around until the phone rings.

It’s no longer that easy. These questionnaires can’t be 20-30 scenarios long. Noooooooo….

They have to be at least 200 to a 1000!  Throw in some about theft, punching other employees in the time clock, and inquiring how angry you might get at management. Hell, hundreds of questions is alot, too. Better make some of them repeat while we’re at it.

If you’ve ever been stuck doing an app at a retailer for hours on end because of this crap, this is for you.

How some people pass it, I’ll never know.

Been puttin’ in lots of hours at the “real” job. It’s quite the expanding retail chain, let me tell you.
Fixing to open some stores in the Philadelphia area, and as you can imagine; we’ve been hiring plenty of employees. We put out ads, web-listings, and the like. The most entertaining outlet for acquiring new team members is to attend a job fair. I wanted to participate in one for the company, you know, to see what all the commotion is about (and to see how many people really do show up in wifebeaters and flipflops.)

I never made it. I inadvertently ended up at a SCIENCE fair by mistake. Thanks GoogleMaps.
It wasn’t a total loss. I did take a picture of a charming young man with a very intriguing study…
