I know I say this too much, but I do appreciate the patience of my readership. Thank you guys. :) Everything's going great after surgery. I'm exactly a month out now. Really mild discomfort at times, but the only real challenge is overcoming fatigue, which can hit me like a truck at certain times of the day. Next comic is around 30% done. Up Friday.

The only problem is I’ve had Psychobilly Freakout stuck in my head for a while now…which really isnt a problem if you ask me
Power pole extend!
That’s no way to treat a firearm!
What about a fore arm?
Forearmed is forewarned.
It’s not her vault she needs the leap of faith.
Just for that you should be brought up on court martial charges so that your rank would be reduced to CplPun.
Heh, I was thinking the same thing, but she’s probably got a barrel that’s design specifically for those purposes, some weird, semiflexible polymer alloy that’s rigid enough for accuracy, but can be used for melee and vaulting at the same time.
How about an electrochromatic static stiffening memory alloy with an optional on/off button for an extra measly $125,000.00?
You joke, but I’ve seen people spend more on custom rifle parts than I have budgeted to purchase a new home.
Carbon fiber, maybe? Could that handle the explosive pressure of a large-caliber rifle round yet still be flexible enough to pole-vault with? Maybe it’s just the initial few inches of the barrel that really needs to be steel?
The better question is why Summer’s leg is just a prosthetic? If her gun barrel can be used for pole vaulting then her leg should have built in guidance missiles, a gatling gun, or the leg equivalent of a Power Fist…Power Foot?
I like where you’re going with this. The guided missiles would be go, but shooting any other kind of projectile would be, ah, shooting herself in the foot? “Hold still, I need to attain the Crane attack position.”
Tripod with wheels? But yeah, what about a blade or blades that attach to the toe and heel?
Because two reasons.
1. D52, what’s left of it, is poorer than a stack of dead beggars. Only two of them actually own a car. Money for fancy prosthetics is probably not in the budget.
2. D52 has either lost or never actually had a Gadgeteer Genius on hand to cobble something like that together out of random-ass spare parts.
So no fancy new leg for Summer the Serious.
Summer could join a League of Sexy Female Assassins, I hear there are a lot of Organizations around.
Too much chance of running into a certain sociopathic sidekick.
That can’t be good for the barrel
My immediate thought.
Some kind of composite?
Given the pressures that heat that a gun barrel goes through, and the fact that it has to be stiff enough to not move while firing, that barrel’s done. Though a barrel thick enough for a sniper rifle like that wouldn’t have that much flex in it. It’d shatter before bending that much. And composites tend to break down quickly if they don’t explode on the first shot.
Barrels made out of flex tape, its the only logical reason.
Don’t tell Phil Swift
She’s trying to survive. She can always get a new barrel.
Where do I get me one of them? Can she fire mid vault for added distance?
Rocket jump 4tw.
And, now we learn their torrid history together.
So torrid? Like “Kung Fu Fighting” torrid, or just “You go that way, and I’ll go home” torrid?
This is Black Betty kind of torrid. Not quite a song about big butts, though, Shirt-Ripper.
Torrid like the movie “Bound”. I keep seeing Summer as played by Gina Gershon. And that makes Tarra played by Jenifer Tilly.

Whoops. Looks like Summer was caught up short by Tarragon.
Love the comic. Stay awesome. Get well. Eat bacon. (m’,’)m

Um… the reckless disregard for conservation of mass aside… wouldn’t it have just been easier to put the extendo-pole in her prosthetic pole-like leg instead of using the barrel of a sniper rifle to pole vault?
Yes. Totally. Like a boss.
Don’t forget to vote every day guys, #23-26 are all within a few spots of each other, can we hit #20 this month?

Well, we gained 0.1 votes per hour on average so far. To hit 20th slot, we need an average of 8.8 votes per hour at this time.
Apparently, neighboring buildings also get free remodels on a regular basis.
It’s all spelled out under your rental agreement under “Acts of Buckingham.”
It’s on the back page FYI.
Read it, learn it, survive the incoming chaos that is the Buckingham sisters.
Calls herself “the Serious” but has a gun she can pole vault with. By the way, I’m going to use that in D&D at some point.
I’ll buy that for a dollar.
Thinking on it. At least Tara was willing to fight face to face. Summer is a coward who has to shoot from a perch far away.
You denigrate the fine profession of sitting in wait in a torrid jungle while hunting the enemy on the field of battle. Maybe Summer is just a soldier of future in Dick’s NGO.
Really? Nobody’s said it yet? Maybe it’s too obvious but, uh…
She thought she was dead serious.
So much for Endless Summer.
I come back three weeks later from nearly dying from a ruptured appendix to this chaos.

*Looks at Roon John and Smartcric’s comments above* wtf? Does the official welcome basket now include Ukrainian cloning devices by any chance?
I assure you they do not. Not since Mr. Blue tried to use one to clone his way to a 50-foot tall lasagna. We were cleaning ricotta out of the couch cushions for THREE DAYS.
Hey. How many times do I have to tell you that was Jeff Goldblum because he wanted to get out of Jurassic Jupiter.
I may have missed it, but what kind of surgery are you having?
Ok, what the hell is this cricket app crap?
