Long Time Gone

Summer obviously can't roam around like the others in the group, and the novelty of hiding for a decade has long worn off. Better to burn out, than ..that other stuff. Especially when you have a target. Next comic is almost done with lineart. Will finish this up on Tuesday. Here's a prev.

  1. I can honestly say I feel bad for Summer. But I can also say risking the lives of what is her family is insane.

    1. Please note: Jason did not declare “First”, but rather commented on today’s strip. Does this not mean that Jason is First?

      1. It needs to ten words or more, including the word first, as well as having a sentence that refers explicitly to something in the posted issue.

So, yes. Someone can go back to the first installment and claim to have the first post after the fact. I mean, this can not be the first time that Durkin has noticed how serious Summer can be and that it’s not just a catchy part of her name or how she performs on the job.

    1. Personally, when someone asks that narratively, I prefer “Do you really call this living?” as a response.

      1. But they aren’t interchangeable. “Do you call this living” implies there may be some room for doubt, it’s the response of someone who deep down wants to be convinced to carry on. “Better than living like this” is a definitive statement that the decision is made and its too late to convince otherwsie.

  2. “Oh, Summer!”

    “Oh, Vampire Guy!”

“Oh, Summer, you know I’m not a vampire.”

    “Oh, Merkin!”

“Oh, boy, is that joke getting old.”

“Oh, shut up and kiss me, you fool!”

And, they lived gothally ever after.

  4. So it’s confirmed – Summer is suicidal, willing to die trying. The only problem is – when you work for a larger group, you need to understand what your role is in that group. If you go rogue, the group is probably going to take your victory from you.

If I were Durkin, I’d just honor her request and cut her loose to finish her suicide. Werewolf boy clearly empathizes with her.

    1. That was me, btw. Again, there’s some sort of wonky delay even when I put my creds into the reply, it’s posting as ANON.

    2. The problem with that is repercussions, should she kill Tarra there will be plenty, if she just wants to die the better option is to bullet Summer himself.

    1. He may operate on the wrong side of the law, towards naughty ends, but that doesn’t mean he’s cool with casual murder. Particularly against a long-time ally, maybe even friend.
