As I understand it, a sledgehammer IS a precision instrument.
First, you TIGHTEN the bolts.
Then you tap it with the hammer, until the thing aligns perfectly.
..Incidentally, I have recently found that a small hammer can be better than WD-40 at loosening up rusted screws. “Seat” the screwdriver with a few taps, a dozen seemed to work well for me, then the screw turns much better.
Goddamn Anise, you got masteries. I get the feeling that she had a tree of expected responses for each line she dropped, with a counter-response in her quiver and at the ready.
He might also be strongly opposed to casual sex, extremely offended when people assume he’s a vampire, strongly reminded of someone he hates by something about Anise or her behavior, or a whole host of other things.
Would’ve thought Anise would be after the were(wolf, bear, ocelot, whatever) type over the vampire type. What with her penchant for those of us with epic facial topiary.
Back to School season for parents is frequently a “meet all the germs your kids’ classmates found over the summer”-time of year, so that tends to be one of my guesses in the fall.
That grinding sound we hear is the Buckingham Sisters’ Freight Train o’ Mayhem (TM) rusting on the sidings, right next to Ringling Bros’ one.
It’s been about two months (our time) since Ellie told Anise not to be weird, and this digression into Anise *being* weird was looking to be over when this page was published. I hope Chris is okay, but I’m only checking in about once every couple of weeks now. Still voting, anyway.
Oh yeah. We’ve got less rhythm in this joint than a fat white guy at a wedding. Soviet train schedules mock our regularity. Still, we stick around because it’s worth it in the end.
I do hope he can get a new strip up this weekend, though. New strips around the first of the month historically mean good things for us on the Webcomics Top 100 lists because it brings all the readers back. Not just those of us who come for the Buckingham girls and stay for the comments section fun.
What about a fat guy at a golden corral buffet?
That almost takes more rhythm to successfully clear than a wedding. At least, that’s how it was the last time I was at a Golden Corral. The place was PACKED at a quarter to five, and trying to get through the line was disastrous.
2 strips a month is really down for him (his output hasn’t been this bad since February when he only had 1 strip).
Granted, he did say he was doing some commission pieces to help pay the bills, and we should be patient with him. So I’ll wait and hope that we see another strip this month.
But, on the positive side, at least we can say we’ve broke the Top 50 and it’s almost the end of the month. So keep those votes coming, guys and gals!!
Me. I kind of think that quality is so much better that the quantity can be forgiven so much quicker than getting your vehicle rear ended by a bunch of kids. (Note: These are my words.)
I’ve been worried about Rusche, tbh. Isn’t he in Florida? Does anybody know if he and his house came through the storm OK?
Chris is currently in the north east se4ction of Alabama. No where near the gulf side of the state. He does kind of give a few clues out to his current location.

REEEEEEEE!!!!
Ellie took charge before Anise went from innuendo to just straight up embarrassing herself.
I’m guessing the THOT-B-GONE requires a double-application in order for it to work properly.
THOT-B-GON, APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE THOT!
THOT-B-GON, APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE THOT!
THOT-B-GON, APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE THOT!
It’s far too late to avoid embarrassing herself.
FIRST REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Subtlety is not one of Anise’s strong suits.
Drat! Foiled by a nanosecond.
What is “Reeeeeee!”?
That’s what I would like to know.
http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/autistic-screeching
The comic comic examples at the bottom of that know your meme page are shit.
Oh, and to date the best autistic screech I’ve heard was either Teal Deer (or TL;DR) or that pedophile Mister Metokur featured recently.
I could dig up links if people are that interested, but I would recommend turning the sound down before … experiencing … the autism.
Was it better than the Cloudsong incident?
Maybe not, but she set him up for that line like a pro
Anise you’re such a try-hard.
What would dad say?
“Can you give your mother some of that sweet game?”
Yea, because that’s how those conversations always went for me.
Keep that stuff away from Cinnamon.
Thats whar she was trying to find out ;)
I do believe “hard” is what she was trying for, sooo…
I always try hard, and I was just about to reach for my dreams.
Dear God, shut up.
Lol omg tmi.
Yeah, the but I would say she failed. Not sure if that indicates something about lurkin’ Durkin there.
Might indicate that he’s still mourning his dead girlfriend.
Consider this kharma for when you tossed Juniper on Black Friday.
Also, impudent she-creature is a very nice descriptor.
Thank you!
My pleasure milady.
Agreed. It’s going to be tempting to pull that one out on someone one of these days.
Ellie is just super jelly of Anise’s sweet moves.
Sweet moves? Those are sweet moves in the sense that a sledgehammer is a precision instrument.
But finishing nails take practically no force at all with a sledge hammer!
But, can she take a hint?
History has shown that, No, she can’t.
Someone had to do it. Like, damnit Anise. No means no.
She crossed that line from impudent to ewww. Imprudent.
At least Durkin didn’t try to banish her,
Anise would be sent right back with a note on her said saying “Too weird for us”
I can’t see Sister X saving her if he did.
Hopefully that galleon isn’t a lease.
I’m not used to seeing the exclamation “REEEEEE” without it being followed by “normie.”
Goddamn Anise, you got masteries. I get the feeling that she had a tree of expected responses for each line she dropped, with a counter-response in her quiver and at the ready.
(and also a smooth move with the wrist-grab-to-waist-hold)
Looks like her quiver wasn’t quivery enough for this task.
Careful Ellie, at this rate you may run out of sisters before backup arrives.
I think she threw Anise into the ballroom?
I thought you were talking to yourself.
That does happen more than occasionally in real life for me.
That was my assumption as well.
The wait, it was long … but gods so worth it!
that was the ‘TOO MUCH! ABORT! ABORT GTFO! I DON’T WANT TO HEAR MORE FROM MY OWN SISTER!” karate move.
Durkin is either very strong or very gay. That or he’s already in a relationship.
He used to have a girlfriend, but she’s no longer among the living at present.
Yeah, I’m thinking he’s going with the eternally tormented by a lost love approach to vampirism.
Eh, my money’s on there being a stargate to the afterlife located somewhere in Vietnam. It’s just a matter of powering the thing up.
Oh yeah. That would not be easy to resist. I’m now not a hundred percent sure Durkin’s human.
OR he doesn’t like people acting like sluts without even trying to be just flirty or friendly first.
I know THAT turns me down.
He might also be strongly opposed to casual sex, extremely offended when people assume he’s a vampire, strongly reminded of someone he hates by something about Anise or her behavior, or a whole host of other things.
Ellie has had enough of your shit xD
Anise just got thrown to the wolves. Possibly literally if Durkin’s little werewolf friends were in attendance.
Hey Chris, you guys make it through the hurricane alright?
I love Anise so hard. So much crazy, so much fun.
Really, dude? “There are no such openings to be filled.”? You just waltzed right into that one.
Hey Rusche, was that REEEEEEEEEEE! JoJo reference?
Sorry, Anon post was me.? I forgot to put my name and email in.
I’m just glad it didn’t get to Kakoyin and the cherry.
You forgot Iggy and what he did to Polnareff.
Would’ve thought Anise would be after the were(wolf, bear, ocelot, whatever) type over the vampire type. What with her penchant for those of us with epic facial topiary.
Yeah….no one expected this at all….
Any word from The Hand That Holds The Pen?
Nary a penscratch. But this is familiar territory. In all likelihood, Something Came Up that we may or may not hear about later.
Back to School season for parents is frequently a “meet all the germs your kids’ classmates found over the summer”-time of year, so that tends to be one of my guesses in the fall.
Thanks. Still not sure about the tempo here. I guess, “Abandon tempo all ye who enter here,”

Yeah, definitely clear where he lives if you know the area (I believe I live within about 20 miles of him).
HARK. . a hobo.
NO. This, conveniently copied from the last post.
